Samsung Experience 9.0 upgrade with Android Oreo

Samsung Experience 9.0 brings you Android Oreo, with exciting new features from Samsung and Google based on feedback from users like you.

We recommend that you back up your important data to keep it safe during the upgrade.
Some apps, including Samsung Pay, Samsung Internet, and Memo, etc. should be updated individually before you can update your OS.

Preload applications changes:
- More system preloading APPs become removable, such as Email, Samsung Health and Samsung Data Store, etc.
- Baidu Search widget is replaced by Baidu App. Samsung Music player is replaced by online Samsung Music.
- Add app icons for Samsung connect, Game Launcher and Secure Folder.
- OneNote app will not be preloaded from this version.
- Preloading Picture frame widget is removed, please find and download it from Galaxy App store if needed.

Some applications' setting need to be set again after OS upgrade, including:
- Applications setting of Voice Recorder, Messages and Camera.
- Easy model user profile, Weather widget, Message widget, Samsung Music widget and wallpaper setting when using the preloading Paper Fun theme.
- Smart Manager Auto Run application list, favorite WLAN APs' password and Subscriptions of Calendar, etc.
- Please login your email accounts again in the Email application.

Here’s what’s new：
Quick Panel
- Manage notifications for each app with notification categories (supported apps only).
- Icons will be shown at the bottom of the notification panel for notifications that aren't currently visible.

Home Screen
- Touch and hold an app to display shortcuts to common or recommended tasks within the app (supported apps only).
- Notification badges on app icons and in the notification panel are synced. Clear a notification in one location, and it will show as cleared in the other location.

Lock Screen
- New clock styles for the Lock screen.

Samsung Keyboard
- The Samsung keyboard toolbar gives quick access to useful functions.
- GIF keyboard lets you send GIFs using Samsung keyboard.
- More high-contrast keyboards are available.

Game Launcher
- Deeply optimization for game playing scenarios with 3 level performance mode.
- Provide Game Tools floating widget to improve user experience while playing game.
- Popular game recommend and game living show.

Samsung account
- Control your profile information for multiple apps.
- Tap your profile picture on the main Settings page to access your profile information and account settings.

Samsung Cloud
- View and manage photos in Samsung Cloud.
- Select specific items to delete or restore from your backups.
- See how big each backup is and how many items it contains.

Samsung Dual Messenger
- Install a second copy of a messaging app so you can use two accounts at the same time, to use it via Setting → Advanced features → Dual messenger.
- For apps that verify accounts using phone numbers, you'll need a different phone number for each account.

Camera
- New version Camera application provide more abundant shot mode and functions, more convenient to use.
- Provide more interesting photo sticker and filter effect.
- Provide Selfie mode and Beauty shot mode with rear camera lens.

Smart View
- Let your phone's screen go dark when mirroring to another screen.
System Performance
- Background services are limited to improve performance and battery life.

Other improvements
- App Lock function is added in Smart Manager.
- Record screen function is added.
- More practical functions are added in Video player, such as auto-repeat, frame capture, GIF capture and video editor.
- Improved payment speed and security of Samsung Pay.
- Clock offers Landscape mode and timer sound options.
- Tap the digital clock widget to go to Clock directly.

How to flash firmware

1. Extract (unzip) the SM-A9100_CHC_A9100ZCU1BRK3......A9100ZCU1BRK3.zip file. using WinRAR or 7-Zip.
2. Download Odin Tool 3.14.1
3. Extract Odin and open it.
4. Reboot Samsung Phone in Download Mode (hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons / hold Volume Down + Bixby buttons then plug-in cable)
5. Connect you Samsung Phone and wait until you get a BLUE sign in Odin.
6. Add the 1 file Samsung firmware to AP/PDA or 4 files Samsung firmware (AP/BL/CP/CSC) to it's slots.
7. Do NOT tick any extra boxes. The only options to be ticked are F.Reset Time and Auto-Reboot.
8. Click the start button, wait for Odin to say 'PASS' in a GREEN sign. Once the flash is complete, your phone will reboot, and you can disconnect your phone from the PC.
